This weekend Worcester Police arrested two teenagers for allegedly shooting pedestrians with paintballs. According to a statement from the WPD’s Facebook page:

On February 9th 2024, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to several incidents involving assaults with a paintball gun. Various pedestrians reported being shot at by the operator of a gray Honda Civic. Officers observed paint on victims, who reported that the vehicle stopped near them and a male fired paintballs at them.

The following day around 12am, Police spotted the car and pulled it over on Townsend Street.

The passenger, who was just 16, fled from police but was soon apprehended. The driver, 19-year-old David Asemani, was also detained.

Asemani was arraigned today in Worcester District Court on two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and driving with a suspended license.

His bail was set at $200 cash/$2,000 surety. The prosecution filed a motion to revoke Asemani’s bail for a prior, pending case. That motion was denied. The defendant’s next court date is April 17, 2024.
