A federal judge in Boston sentenced Nathan Boddie, 38, of Pawtucket, R.I., to seven years in prision after Boddie pleaded guilty to drug possession with intent to distribute and conspiracy.
According to a press release from the U.S. District Attorney’s Office in Boston, Boddie and others allegedly conspired to
traffic various controlled substances – including methamphetamine, fentanyl pills and cocaine – in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and elsewhere. It is further alleged that [the conspirators] routinely used the mail to ship drugs from Arizona to Massachusetts, often hiding the drugs within packages containing children’s items such as toy trucks, Halloween decorations and Disney items. Between May and October 2022, investigators seized seven packages containing a total of over 900 grams of methamphetamine, thousands of counterfeit pills containing fentanyl, as well as suspected Dimethyltryptamine– a very strong psychedelic. One such package was destined for Boddie and contained over 200 grams of pure methamphetamine.
Boddie was arrested in Rhode Island after a traffic stop. At the time of his arrest, officers found a 9mm ghost gun in the car along with 20 grams of methamphetamine which Boddie unsuccessfully attempted to swallow.
