Today authorities in Middleboro, Massachusetts rescued numerous animals from a condemned house on Precinct Street.
The house contained 17 dogs, two cats, a turtle, and a guinea pig. Police told Boston 25 that the dogs had no food or water and were covered in filth.
One dog required emergency treatment at a veterinary hospital. The remaining 16 dogs placed in the custody of the Wareham Animal Control.
Police have charged the homeowners. Though the specific crimes they are charged with is unclear.
