Every law student must take a writing course known as legal methods. In theory the course is a good idea. Most lawyers write motions, complaints and other legal documents on a daily or weekly basis. Unfortunately, legal methods courses do not adequately prepare students to write such documents. In this video I discuss how legal writing is taught at law school and how it fails to prepare new lawyers for the actual practice of law.
