Occasionally the attorney for a home buyer will find a problem with the seller’s ownership of a house. These problems are referred to as “title problems” and they can be expensive to fix. The three most common sources of title problems are (1) bad foreclosures (2) estate planning trusts and (3) ownership that has remained in the same family for multiple generations.
