In September 2021, three men from the D.C. area allegedly drove to Wrentham Village Premium Outlets in Massachusetts, smashed the window of Gucci’s storefront, and stole $32,000 in merchandise. The heist took place in the early hours of the morning when the outlets were closed.

According to law enforcement, the men immediately drove back to D.C. with their high-end loot.

Investigators were able to track the men’s vehicle using surveillance cameras from different sources between Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.

Additionally, one of the three men attempted to sell some of the stolen goods on his Instagram account.

Arrests were made and the suspects were arraigned in January 2023 at U.S. District Court in Boston. (See my post Three Men Indicted for Stealing Over $32,000 in Goods from Gucci Outlet in Wrentham.)

One of the three men, Linworth Hayes Crawford, III pleaded guilty to conspiracy in February 2024 and today the U.S. District Attorney’s Office announced that a second defendant, Nathniel Owens, has entered a guilty plea.

According to a press release from the DA’s office,

Nathaniel Owens, 33, pleaded guilty on April 4, 2024 to one count of conspiracy to transport stolen goods in interstate commerce and one count of interstate transportation of stolen goods. U.S. District Judge Allison D. Burroughs scheduled sentencing for July 19, 2024. Owens was indicted by a federal grand jury in January 2023 along with his co-defendants Linworth Hayes Crawford III and Ronald Patterson, Jr.

Owens can receive up to five years in prison when he returns to court this summer for sentencing.

The third and final defendant, Ronald Patterson, Jr., has not pleaded guilty and his case is now proceeding towards trial.
