Late last week Agawam police arrested Christian Smith-Ahearn, 36, of Greenfield for allegedly filming a nude female co-worker, without her knowledge, in a Bondi’s Island locker room.
Bondi’s Island is a regional wastewater treatment facility partially located in Agawam.
According to Western Mass News, Greenfield police were the first to learn about the illicit recordings (though it’s unclear who or what initially tipped them off.)
Greenfield investigators somehow obtained a thumb drive containing a video of a suspect setting up a camera inside the waste facility’s locker room. Later in the same video a topless woman is filmed without her knowledge or consent.
The police contacted Christian’s wife. She reportedly viewed the recording and recognized the victim from a recent Christmas party they both attended. However, she did not know the victim’s name.
Police arrested Christian while he was working at Bondi’s Island. He was arraigned in Westfield District Court where he is charged with photographing an unsuspecting nude person G.L. c. 272 §105(b). His bail was set at $500.
Western Mass News reports that Christian’s employer, Veolia North America, has suspended him without pay pending his legal proceedings.
