Today the Massachusetts State Police issued a weekly summary that included the arrest of an allegedly impaired, gun-toting Uber driver in Wilmington.
According to the state police, their Andover barracks received a call reporting an erratic driver on the southbound side of I-93.
A trooper located and followed the vehicle. The trooper claims that the driver swerved in and out of lanes and nearly sideswiped a bus.
The trooper stopped the driver who “stated he was an Uber driver on his way to pick up a passenger.”
After a field sobriety test, the trooper concluded that the driver was impaired and placed him under arrest for OUI.
The driver’s car was towed and during the pre-tow inventory troopers allegedly found a loaded 9mm handgun and five loaded magazines.
