Earlier today police arrested Thomas Brady, former deputy superintendent of Norfolk County Sheriff’s Department.
A federal grand jury indicted Brady on four counts of extortion and three counts of use of interstate facilities to commit bribery and extortion.
According to the United State District Attorney’s Office, between 2021 and 2023 Brady allegedly used his position at the sheriff’s department to pressure two jailhouse maintenance employees to perform repair work at his private home in Norwood.
The maintenance workers claim that, on various occasions, they replaced Brady’s showerhead, fixed his water heater, fixed his heating system, and made runs to Home Depot for parts. The work took place both while the men were on the clock at the jail and when they were off duty.
If convicted, Brady could face up to 20 years in federal prison.
