Lancelot Entertainment Boston, LLC (“Lancelot”)–the owner and operator of King Richard’s Faire in Carver–is suing its landlord in Plymouth Superior Court.
For 25 years, according to the complaint, Lancelot has put on its fair at 235 Main Street.
That property is owned by Alphonse D’Amico.
According to the complaint,
[D’Amico] made multiple false statements and deliberately misled the Faire’s owners and representatives in late 2024 and early 2025 regarding his intent to extend the long-standing lease of the premises, which the Faire and its affiliated artisans and craftspeople had improved and built out for decades, to allow the 2025 Faire to go forward. In truth, he was really stalling for time and stringing the Faire along so that he could surreptitiously prepare to present his own knock-off version of the Faire at the Faire’s old site. Unbeknownst to the Faire’s owners and representative, D’ Amico was soliciting and attempting to hire Faire-affiliated vendors and other contractors, as well as the Faire’s former employees who he believed had the knowledge and ability to effectively compete with the Faire.
The complaint accuses D’Amico of fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and unfair and deceptive business practices per G.L. 93A.
On it’s civil action cover sheet, Lancelot lists its estimated damages as “TBO but not less than $10 million.”
