On October 14, the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers (BBO) voted to reprimand former U.S. Attorney Rachael Rollins.

In 2022, Rollins allegedly sought to damage Kevin Hayden’s campaign for Suffolk County District Attorney by leaking a confidential DOJ document to the press.

The confidential document concerned Hayden’s handling of a police misconduct case.

Rollins, at the time, allegedly backed Hayden’s opponent, City Councilor Richard Arroyo.

According to the Boston Globe, the BBO “found that Rollins disclosed confidential information and then lied about it to her DOJ colleagues.”

The BBO’s disciplinary board consists of 12 members. Three voted against the reprimand “as too lenient.” A fourth member recused herself from the vote.
