Alex De Oliveira, 25, was arrested on Saturday after he allegedly threw a small dog off his balcony at Oak Ridge Apartments in Milford.
Milford police claim that they received a 911 call around 2:39 a.m.
The caller reported an ongoing disturbance at the apartments.
The caller also stated that a dog might have been thrown from one of the balconies.
When police arrived, they allegedly found a small gray dog partially buried in a snowbank.
According to police, the dog was severely injured and brought to Tufts Animal Hospital in Grafton for emergency treatment.
Police searched De Olivera’s apartment and allegedly found him hiding in his bathroom.
According to police, he was “visibly upset and showed signs of intoxication.”
Investigators claim that De Olivera was upset after a phone conversation with an unnamed party living in Bazil.
The bail clerk set De Olivera’s bail at $5,000.
Presently there are no charges pending against De Olivera according to Milford District Court’s online docket.
Though that might change in the near future.
