This week two deceased dogs were found in Weymouth.

On Sunday (April 5) a small, white Terrier-type dog was found dead near Whitmans Pond.

The animal’s body was found close to a gazebo on Middle Street.

According to officials, “the dog had no identifying tags, collar, or microchip — only a Seresto flea and tick collar.”

There are no known signs of trauma or suspicious circumstances. Nevertheless, police want to locate the dog’s owners and provide them with closure.

The second dog turned up the next day (April 6) along the shoreline on Lakeshore Drive.

Police describe this dog as “a medium-sized, black and white Pitbull mix.”

Again, there was no way of identifying the animal or its owners.

The dog was wrapped in a plastic dog.

Unlike the first dog, the police consider this animal’s death to be suspicious.

They are asking anyone with information about these dogs to contact the town’s animal control officer.
