legal-fees-1

Lawyers are required to provide their clients with fee agreements. These agreements must outline the type of legal work the lawyer will provide for the client as well as the lawyer’s fee for his services.

According to the Massachusetts Rules of Professional Conduct Rule 1.5(b):

the scope of the representation and the basis or rate of the fee and expenses for which the client will be responsible shall be communicated to the client in writing before or within a reasonable time after commencing the representation.
