
Yesterday the federal government published a lengthy list of “sanctuary jurisdictions” in the United States. These are municipal and county governments where officials intentionally thwart immigration enforcement by failing to collect immigration data from residents.
The list was compiled by the Department of Homeland Security and the Attorney General. The Trump administration intends to cut federal funding to these jurisdictions if they continue to obstruct law enforcement. Letters to that effect will be issued to each of the named jurisdictions.
Below is a list of the Massachusetts cities and counties flagged as “sanctuaries”:
