On December 18, Massachusetts State Police–with the assistance of the Framingham Police Department–arrested three suspects who allegedly attempted to solicit minors online.

At the time, police withheld the suspects’ names.
Today the identities of the three men were reported by the Boston Globe.
According to the Globe, the arrestees were:
- Joseph C. Norton of Framingham. Norton was the vice chairman of the city’s planning board until he resigned from his position on Christmas Eve.
- Eric S. Gurvis, of Sherborn. Gurvis served as rabbi for the Temple Shalom in Newton from 1999 to 2017. In 2019 he was appointed spiritual leader of Sha’arei Shalom in Ashland.
- Surya Chandra Ravi Kumar Eda, of Milford. No details were given for him.
Norton and Gurvis were charged with
- Enticement of a child under 16 per G.L. c. 265, Sec. 26C(b);
- Attempt to commit a crime per G.L. c. 274, Sec. 6; and
- Sexual conduct for pay with a child under 18 per G.L. c. 272, Sec. 53A(c)
They were arraigned on December 19 in Framingham District Court.
Bail for both men was set at $2,000.
At present, there’s no information readily available for Surya Chandra Ravi Kumar Eda.
