Last week in Bristol Superior Court, Andrew Sousa, 28, pleaded guilty to motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence of liquor.

The charge stems from the September 2024 crash that killed 24-year-old Mallory Humphreys.

A superior court judge accepted plea and imposed a split sentence of 2.5 years.

Two years of the sentence will be served in jail.

The remaining six months will be suspended while Sousa is on probation until 2030.
