Dana Dudley, 45, appeared in Springfield District Court this morning to face charges related to the March 11th brawl at Sci-Tech High School.
During the melee, someone fired a gun. Thankfully nobody was struck by the bullet.
Dana is the parent of Sci-Tech student Chantz Dudley. Police suspect that Chantz (who’s still at large) fired the gun inside the school
According to Western Mass News:
45-year-old Dana Dudley, Chantz Dudley, Josiah Livingston and a juvenile female student were outside the school when a teacher cracked the door open to tell them to leave. At that time, one of the suspects reportedly grabbed the door handle, opened the door, and the suspects allegedly forced their way into the school. Dana Dudley was detained by school staff, who also removed a knife that he reportedly had possession of. After the gun fired, Dana Dudley allegedly drove off with Chantz Dudley and the female.
Dana is charged with carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds and armed breaking and entering during the daytime with intent to commit a felony.
The judge set Dana’s bail at $75,000 cash and $750,000 surety.
Dana is no stranger in Springfield District Court. Between 2002 and 2024, he has appeared 34 times as a criminal defendant. During that time, he has also faced criminal charges in Chicopee, Palmer, and Holyoke.
His first pretrial hearing for the Sci-Tech incident will be held on April 22.
